Solo Exhibitions by Shmuel Anatoly Schelest and Made Balbat

On the 6th of November 2018, two solo exhibitions will be opened at the Estonian Children’s Literature Centre. The Illustration gallery exhibits works by Israel artist Shmuel Anatoly Schelest and the Staircase gallery works by Estonian illustrator Made Balbat. Both exhibitons will stay open until the 1st of December.

Shmuel Anatoly Schelest was born 1957 in Kiev, Ukraine. He studied graphics at the Kiev Institute of Fine Arts and at the Tashkent National Institute of Theater and Fine Arts. He has lived in Uzbekistan and Germany and lives since 2006 in Israel. Schelest has had solo exhibitions in Uzbekistan, Malaysia, Germany, Holland, Israel, Georgia and Jerusalem and has participated in many group exhibitions.

Made Balbat (1960) is Estonian illustrator who has participated in a number of group exhibitions. It is her first solo exhibition that presents Balbat’s digital illustrations. The artist’s works mainly thematise fairy tales.
